Today we viewed multiple humpbacks and Bigg's killer whales around the Juan de Fuca Strait. Humpback whales are busy feeding, putting on as much weight as they can before their long migration south. Our special birding tour went out first thing this morning and viewed many unique species of sea bird including short-tailed shearwaters, pomarine jaegers, and white-winged scoters. We also visited Race Rocks ecological reserve to see harbour seals and California and Steller sea lions.
