Being safe while having fun is always our #1 priority
Nov. 24, 2020
Is whale and wildlife watching with Eagle Wing Tours a safe thing to do right now? What COVID-19 safety measures do we have in place? Where can you learn more about those safety measures?
These are all good questions that you should be asking—and we’re happy to answer!
It IS possible to have fun on the water during a pandemic and stay safe. We’ve proved that in the months since we reopened at the beginning of July. Thanks to you, we’ve had a tremendous summer and fall. Thousands of you have come out on a tour with us to enjoy the amazing wildlife, stunning scenery and abundant fresh air of the Salish Sea.
Now, as we move into the winter months and more uncertain times, our extensive COVID-19 safety measures are more important than ever. At Eagle Wing, we take the health and safety of everyone—guests and staff—VERY seriously. It is our highest priority.
We want you to have an outrageous amount of fun on your tour with us—and feel safe while doing it! That’s why Eagle Wing Tours is proud to be a member of Safe Travels, a World Travel and Tourism Council initiative that ensures globalized standard protocols for health and hygiene.
Our Safety Pledge to you
Eagle Wing’s COVID-19 policies and protocols continue to be guided by the advice of public health authorities, WorkSafe BC and Transport Canada. Our safety measures—praised by our guests for their thoroughness—remain in place and are regularly reviewed and updated as new information comes in from authorities.
Our measures include:
- contact-free check-in;
- mandatory face coverings;
- caps on guest numbers per vessel;
- a dedicated health and safety coordinator on each vessel (exclusive to our company!);
- enhanced cleaning protocols;
- multiple hand sanitizer stations;
- outdoor seating options;
- friendly reminders to socially distance where possible.

You’ll notice that we insist on face coverings. They’re mandatory for everyone—our staff included—from the moment you check in until you return back to our office after your tour. It’s an operational requirement and is not negotiable. Bring your own. Or we’re happy to provide free face coverings at check-in.
Can’t commit to wear a face covering? Then we suggest you wait until the pandemic is over to book a tour. Yes, we’re that serious about protecting our guests, ourselves and our business!
It’s time for some fun!
We all deserve some fun after the year we’ve had, don’t you think? The wildlife is out there. In the winter we can see whales, seals, sea lions, eagles, sea otters, migrating seabirds…the list goes on!
This winter, tours are available on our semi-covered catamaran, 4 Ever Wild. To salute the sacrifices we’ve made, we’re offering a 20% discount for residents of the 13 municipalities within the Greater Victoria region and a 10% discount for other residents of Canada! Get your promo code here.
