Now’s your chance to learn more about your big blue back yard!

World Ocean Day is celebrated every year on June 8 and it’s all about collaborative conservation. What better way to celebrate than to join us at Fisherman’s Wharf for World Ocean Day 2023 on Sunday, June 11?

This educational, family-friendly celebration brings hundreds of people to Fisherman’s Wharf to check out all things ocean-related, including live divers, touch tanks, crafts, watershed models and flying killer whales!

What started as a small gathering with divers and a few local conservation groups has grown into a large yearly event that includes over 20 different organizations. The event is organized by Eagle Wing Tours and the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority.

Let’s celebrate together!

We’re very excited to welcome everyone for this ninth annual celebration at Fisherman’s Wharf! You can learn all about the many different local organizations making a difference in education, conservation and research in the Salish Sea and beyond.

We’ll also be hosting one of Canadian Geographic’s giant floor maps which allows participants to better understand our local watersheds and how we’re all connected to the ocean. This is a fun learning opportunity not to be missed!

This year’s schedule is as follows:

  • 11 a.m. opening/dancers
  • 11:30 a.m. Seaquaria divers
