Restrictions eased to align with BC Restart Plan
Woohoo, it’s finally time to begin the return to pre-pandemic “normal” and we couldn’t be more excited. There’s so much in the Salish Sea we want to show you! And as always, your health and safety remains our #1 priority.
On July 1, British Columbia moved into Phase 3 of its four-step Restart Plan. What does this mean for your Eagle Wing Tours experience? What health and safety measures do we still have in place? Where can you learn more about those measures?
These are all good questions that we’re happy to answer!
Health and safety is top priority
At Eagle Wing, we take the health and safety of everyone—guests, staff and neighbours—VERY seriously. Our policies and protocols continue to be guided by the advice of public health authorities, WorkSafe BC and Transport Canada.
We’re also very aware in this time of transition that there are different levels of vaccination out there, which means different levels of protection. It’s important this summer that we respect everyone’s comfort level and continue to protect the vulnerable among us.
Based on updated information from the BC Provincial Health Officer, we’re revising our COVID-19 safety plan. Some of the measures in the old plan remain in place for now to help keep you safe. These include contact-free check-in, enhanced cleaning protocols, multiple hand sanitizer stations, and friendly reminders to socially distance where possible.
Masks optional outside
Face coverings such as masks and buffs are now optional—but encouraged—on the outer decks of all our vessels. In the short term, masks are still mandatory inside the cabins of our two semi-covered vessels, 4 Ever Wild and Wild 4 Whales for everyone aged 2 and older. This is for the protection of all guests and staff who are not yet fully vaccinated.
To say this past year has been a difficult for everyone is an understatement. The pandemic has changed the global landscape, with each of us adapting our lives to the best of our abilities. Now you want to cut loose and have some fun—to get out and enjoy the fresh air and beauty of the Salish Sea.
We’re ready for you! Summer is a fabulous time of year to see everything the Salish Sea has to offer—multiple kinds of whales, seals, sea otters, sea lions, the list goes on. Come out and meet them!
