Sarah grew up in Alberta, where she spent her early years in the Rocky Mountains, hiking, skiing, and camping. At age 11, she received her open water scuba certification while on a family vacation in Hawaii. This left her awestruck by the underwater world. In 2019, she moved to Victoria to pursue a biology degree at the University of Victoria. During her studies, she has completed two co-op work placements, performing environmental assessments and scientific diving for the Canadian Coast Guard and Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Sarah was drawn to Eagle Wing because its community involvements and ongoing conservation and sustainability goals align with her own personal values. She’s committed to reducing her carbon footprint by commuting by bike, supporting local businesses, and opportunistically picking up litter in outdoor spaces. She’s passionate about working outdoors and educating the public about the beautiful Salish Sea!
