Hailing from the swamps of Hamilton, Ontario, Evan found his love for nature at an early age wandering the forests of the Niagara Escarpment. His love affair with the ocean began in Mexico where he encountered his first coral reef. A few years later he found himself in Thailand where he would eventually live and become a scuba dive instructor on the small island paradise of Koh Tao. He’s also spent ample time diving the kelp forests of the Canadian west coast. His passion for marine life naturally led him to encounters with various whale species that would ultimately change the course of his life forever. Evan has been a whale watching guide and captain in Victoria for seven years. When he’s not working he can usually be found canoeing, hiking, biking or tending to his artistic pursuits.
