Eagle Wing's incredible family works with purpose and passion on behalf of all wildlife. We encourage our guests to become more involved in the education and conservation of a sustainable, healthy, and more balanced marine eco-system and provide our guests with so much more than just a look at the whales. It is our belief that wildlife viewing can have great educational merit and that education (at the desired level) greatly enhances the value of the experience. Your safety and overall wildlife adventure is our primary focus. Being that Eagle Wing is a family owned and operated business who rely on repeat customers and referrals we are constantly motivated to maintain a superior standard of customer service and overall guest experience.
The Captains & Crew:
Brett - Lead Captain & Owner
Born and raised in Victoria, Brett is Lead Captain, General Manager and co-owner of Eagle Wing Tours. Brett has over 16 years of experience on local waters and 11 years operating within the whale watching industry in Victoria. He has accumulated over 1000's of trips, & enjoys every minute of it!
In addition to his on the water skills he brings a very creative artistic background, 8 years of Hotel Hospitality (6 years at the prestigious Delta Ocean Pointe Resort & winner of the prestigious Hospitality Award), and a Crocodile Hunter-like enthusiasm.
Brett's tours are often jam packed with all sorts of wonderful critters such as, orca, birds, seals, porpoise, jellyfish, plankton, sea-stars, crabs and if you are really lucky perhaps a taste of fresh seaweed. Do not worry, he never forgets about the thrilling boat ride.
Your marine experience will be unforgettable! Brett is a colourful character who prides himself on detail and being able to provide more than simply just a look at the whales. He passionately believes that there is educational merit to all of his tours, and you will see first hand that whale-watching extends far beyond being just a livelihood to him; it is his way of life.

Dave - (aka: Big Blue) Captain
Dave (AKA Big Blue) is a crowd favourite, and an admired character of Victoria's harbour. What can we say...he likes blue. So we must thank him for driving a yellow boat. THANK YOU DAVE. He is always ready and willing to support us on so many levels. His many years of on the water experience within the whale watching industry in Victoria is invaluable. A seasoned traveller, Dave brings an unforgettable, and unparalleled flavour to our guest's experience. Also, his sense of humour adds an interesting & playful dimension to his already extensive list of skills and knowledge.
Essa - Biologist
Essa is passionate, playful, dynamic, and knowledgeable. Her energy embraces you in a way that will leave you with a heartfelt appreciation for all of our friends, the Southern Resident Killer Whales, Transients, Birds, Seals & Sea Lions. She always has the best interests of the wildlife and our guests at heart.
On top of being a wonderful conservationist, and multi-lingual (French, Spanish, English), she is a very accomplished Belly Dancer. She stops people in their tracks!
Marejke - Biologist
Our family grew further when Marejke came aboard. A recent biology graduate of the University of Victoria, with a passion for being out on the water. Marejke certainly has a unique ability of communicating the complexities of nature to the general public. Like nature she seamlessly adapted into Eagle Wing Tours...thank you Marejke
Marine Adventure Center:
Rachel - Office Manager
Rachel has a long history of customer service within the retail and government sectors. Over the years, marrying her high school sweety, having three children, loving animals, and dealing with the public she has developed a gift for always unconditionally, supporting and helping others.
Being outdoors working with our guests and her husband (Brett) has been a gift. It is truly a privilege to be able to do what you enjoy. She is dedicated, eager, passionate, and driven to make sure that your overall experience is both memorable and fulfilling.
Be careful though, sometimes she will sneak out onto the boat saying hello to our extended family, the whales.
Maureen (aka: Mo) - Customer Service Agent
Also born and raised in Victoria, Maureen (AKA 'Mo') is always cheerful, professional, and dedicated. Her energy is infectious and a true delight around the adventure center. Eagle Wing Tours is very fortunate to have had Mo represent us since 2006. She is very busy, often working two jobs and balancing being a full time student at the University of Victoria.
Vanessa - Customer Service Agent
Vanessa has graced Eagle Wing with her kind and friendly spirit since 2005. She left us to explore opportunities in the UK last fall (2006) until just recently (September 2007). We truly missed her during the season of 2007 and were elated to have her come back at the end of the this season. We are looking forward to having her on board next year. As time goes on, people come and go to follow their aspirations and dreams. In supporting her, we soon realized what an invaluable part of the family she was. We all missed you Vanessa...welcome back!
Amber - Customer Service Agent
Amber's many years of hotel hospitality shows. She is meticulous, calm, professional and genuinely pleasant. Like Mo, she works very hard and diligently maintains a second job at the famous Bear Mountain Resort. Always smiling, charming, and loyal, we are truly honoured and blessed to have her along for the ride.
